Strange cutting out issue

So driving the gti tonight go to pull up at traffic lights put the clutch in and engine cuts out start it again and it idles fine blip the throttle and it nearly dies then every time I go to stop it neat cuts out but doesn't do it all the time, it idles fine so I'm quite confused as to what it could be.

It sounds like your icv needs to be cleaned or replaced

Mine used to do too this icv fixed it

I cleaned mine up and it's been alright since.
