Yea Rabbits often play dead when faced with predators, they can even drop their heart-beat and respiration so low you can mistake them for dead. The natural instinct is to lie in the hedge and wait till the predator go's away.
Pretty stupid if you ask me - but that's probably how the cat managed to drag it inside.
