Thought I might put a turbo boost gauge on the old beast for a laugh, where does it connect to and can anyone recommend a reasonable one to get???

Use a t piece to connect it into the line going from your intercooler to fuel pump.

There are so many threads on this but ill be nice Big Grin

Basically the boost gauge connects after the turbo and measures the pressure produced by the turbo. If you buy a cheap one it could be out by a bit. So really its up to you whether you want to get a more precise expensive one or not. There are electronic ones or ones which are just the tube. Most people prefer the ones with just the tube as not only are they cheaper but they are also a bit more responsive.

I dont know exactly how it is on a dturbo however on a hdi To connect the boost gauge you will need to get a take off from the inlet manifold elbow. You could drill and tap a hole for a brake nipple if youve got a tapping set or what ive done and a few others is to by a proper take off piece from ebay.

mmmm... and you can find a hole to put the turbo through to the top right of the master brake cylinder. You need to poke it through.

To mount the gauge in the dash you could just screw it into the dash but imo it looks really cheap. So you can get mounts that go onto the A pillar. Single ones seem to be very difficult to get hold of and cost about £35 delivered. Double ones are about £40 and can be found on ebay etc. They are 306 specific however some trimming is required to get it to fit.

If it lights up which most of them do then most people take the power from the dimmer switch. That means it only turns on when you turn your lights on which makes sense!

that should be enough to get you started and entertained for a bit.

Also i would choose PSI over BAR. And Bens post above this is that dturbo specific bit i didnt know so yeh youve got it easy with no tapping of manifolds etc Big Grin Just a T piece in the existing tubing just like the mighty car mods video Big Grin
