Check out my broker in cheddar, he's usually cheap as has a panel of around 50 underwriters.
Woodbury insurance brokers, 01934 742550, ask for Ian and say Chris Reynolds recommended him
I can't guarantee he will be cheap for you but it's worth a call

Haha I know, and only 40 more than a 1.8 cabby!
Thought the cabbys would be worse tbh to say its a rag top and it only takes a stanley blade to get into them

To say I'm jelous is a understatement! Mines a standard 2.0HDi estate, I was 24 when I took out the policy and I've been paying £294 a month...... yes a month. If there isn't a massively major drop come renewal time will have to get rid of it.

Isnt that like £3.5k? What have you done to get insurance like that? Do you get caught drink driving every time you leave the house or something?

I pay less than a grand a year for both of my modified 306's, pretty pleased with that considering I'm 22, some of my friends are paying double that for 1.4 corsa's.
The lotus was only 1800 a year when i was 21

As I said half the time it depends on your location! My mum pays around 300 for a focus tdci with full no claims so for me to pay £80 more than her for a lowered stage 1 hdi with 17" wheels I dont think its bad!
Plus as I say thats not looking around, that was just me playing on go compare!
The 380 for my hdi is all mods declared and the others are lowered and wheels declared!

Nope. Totally clean licence. Yeh total for the year was about £3.2k.
Had one accident 2.5yrs ago, was a insurance fiddle in my opinion but couldn't prove it but mighty conveinient that her son & daughter were there less than 30secs later taking pics and details etc and she lied about where she came from I didn't stand a chance of seeing her where she (and her son & daughter on foot) had come from but they backed her story saying she'd come from different direction. Got shafted basically.
My old no claims had expired aswell and can only guess that my old insurer (Quinn) have logged me as a non-payer on the CUE database after I cancelled my policy when my last 306 died a few years ago but again can't prove that unless I pay the data protection thing to get what they hold on me and even if they have I can't force them to remove it even though they'd be lying if they had.
One of those things though, to get back on the road I've been forced to stomach a horrendous years policy just to get a years no claims on the books and to prove I ain't a credit risk. Even went to one company who did a licence check with the DVLA to prove I had my PCV cause they'd guarantee a cheap quote but came back they wouldn't touch me regardless unless I had at least a years no-claims
