urgent help needed! - not needed anymore!

My car won't start, the biggest relay behind the battery is clicking like mad and I've run out of ideas to get it going!

Any ideas!?!

Few more details might help, is it turning over? Starting but cutting out? completely dead apart from the relay? Electrics on/off etc?

get some cable and short from the positive battery to the stop solenoid, it should click the relay on to preheat, see if it starts then, otherwise id guess that your relay is knackered

Dodgy connection to earth or live, check the battery cables going to the earth points and starter. Thats the glowplug relay going mental as every time it connects, the increased load steals the power to the relay, so shuts off, then it comes on as connection is restored.

It's just clicking, and now one of the wires has snapped off the relay. Last time this happened, I fiddled with the starter wires and it worked..

Got it going and finally home. I have a really bad earth somewhere, got one jump lead from the battery to the engine, then another for pre-heat and got it going.
