Ok then dudes, some serious business to attend to.
http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/ueberuns/i...bcams.html As you can see the Nurburgring is currently a little bit white. I do not think that this is something to worry about, as by April the conditions should be fine. From what I can tell it could be a chilly and miserable or it could be lovely and sunny and warm. We are quite lucky, as Jonny's mum is fluent in German, so we will get her to give them a call and get some advice/clear up any grey areas that I'm struggling to find info on. I will let you know tomorrow! I do not want to go down the route of postponing the trip, i.e. having to change ferries/time of work etc. Tom: We haven't really mentioned walkie talkies. If as you said, you can sort that out, that would be great! Ash: I'm sure we will sort something out. You ARE coming Rich: I am little confused, are you wanting to come? Can't quite tell! A few little things that are quite obvious that I feel the need to mention: -Just want to make sure you all have passports! -European Health Insurance Card I'll mock up a full list in a few days of what I'll be taking Daily Slag: http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-3849.html

Just been talking to Ash regards costings, and we were talking about food. If we want to keep this as cheap as possible, then I reckon we can buy most of the food here and cook together or something, that'll really drop the cost down. I have a big double burner camping stove and we can live off potato curry or something
But seriously, I think it's worth considering cooking as a group. What do you think? (22-02-2013, 06:39 PM)rocker8742 Wrote: European what now? European health card, basically replaces the old E1 11 form. Saves you paying several grand if you break a leg or something. Sounds about right to me, basic spares would be good too. And I assume everyone has a spare wheel in legal condition.

Getting my spare sorted next week, what basic spares would be an idea?
"In winter conditions the use of four winter tires or snow chains on at least two tires is now mandatory in Austria between 1 November and 15 April."
Were not going there but is worth checking other countries for things such as this. Fire extinguisher is needed in Belgium and possibly some other countries
28-02-2013, 08:21 PM
Yeah that too there's a company that does cheap ones on fleabay
And fire extinguishers are mandatory are they? Ah well, I've got one anyway but thought it was just a recommendation. Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.
28-02-2013, 08:26 PM
From what I've seen they're just recommended not mandatory
First aid kit is mandatory in Austria too
28-02-2013, 08:30 PM
Fire extinguisher might not be compulsory actually only said it on RAC website
bulb set?

Let's make a list then, I'll look for a definite list of what we need. EDIT: here it is: http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/tou...ipment.pdf
Also we need to think about spares/tools, there's no point all of us having a trolley jack and axle stands, but one set between us might be a smart idea. Also what's going on with food, If everyone wants i don't mind making a rough menu and buying the basics here to simplify things, then we don't have to go shopping as much/if at all when we're out there? Right, just to update you. I've made a final decision that even if i do get my licence i'm not going to go.
A: I just simply cannot afford it B: need to focus on my 'career' course atm (15th April i have a 2 day course booked) C: I can't justify taking a week off work without pay. I Black mask Crystal headlights, check out my Thread

03-03-2013, 10:06 PM
I'll chuck in an old climbing rope and a knife. Best kind of tow rope cos its stretchy, much more comfy and less snatchy to tow with.
And I have 2 double burner camping stoves, can bring both if needed. Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

What are we doing about food then? As I said, I'll do a rough menu if needs be and even buy the non perishables etc up here to save hassle/money.
Thoughts? Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Right then, this trip is fast approaching now lads! Excuse me for not being on top of this thread, but I've just been over in Spain for the last 10 days.
Spent earlier today going through the food/drink aspect of the trip with Jonny and have come up with the following plan. So we are away from the 5th April to 14th April. This brakes down as follows: (B = Breakfast, L = Lunch and D = Dinner) Friday 5th: B - Eat on ferry L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - Pasta, sauce, tuna Saturday 6th: B - Fry up L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - Bangers, mash, peas Sunday 7th: B - Beans on toast L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - Pub (celebrating the Ring ) Monday 8th: B - Weetabix, toast L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - Chicken curry, rice Tuesday 9th: B - Weetabix, toast L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - BBQ Weds 10th: B - Scrambles egg, toast L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - Fondue Thursday 11th: B - Beans on toast L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - Spag bol. Friday 12th: B - Weetabix, toast L - Bread, cheese, meats etc. D - Veg soup, bread Saturday 13th: B - Weetabix, leftovers L - ? (We will be on the massive m'way blast) D - Pub Sunday 14th: B - Fry up, leftovers L - Ferry D - We should be home! Now, two options. I, as well as Jonny, I assume , would be happy (providing I have sufficient to funds) to buy most of what we will need in bulk before heading off and then collect some moneys from you lot when we meet up. I'd like to think I can trust you lot Alternatively, you could paypal one of us some money before hand. Obviously, we will buy bread and all the foods that do not keep once we are out there. Finally, I think it would be best if we all sorted our own drinks, but I'll buy some biscuits, crisps etc when the big food shop is being done. We have come up with the following list of what we think we will need: Tea, coffee, sugar etc.. Milk (UHT) Weetabix Pasta Tuna Pasta Sauce Eggs Bacon Beans Mushrooms Marg Salt, pepper, ketchup Potatoes Sausages Peas Rice Curry Disposable BBQ's Spaghetti Tinned tomatoes Herbs Biscuits Crisps Olive oil Jam Marmalade So, if there is anything that you think I have missed out or have any ideas on how this can bettered (if that's possible ), speak up and also if there is any of you that have some special dietary requirements, let me know! p.s. I will not tolerate vegetarians. Daily Slag: http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-3849.html
