Yo peeps!
I was wondering if there are any differences between the P2 and P3 gti6s apart from the normal P2 vs P3 exterior differences...
- black rub strips
- boot lid
- smaller bonnet bulge
- bumpers
- half black sideskirts
are there any other differences with them engine wise?
- any difference in tbs?
- cat design?

Nope running gear and engine wiring is all the same.
Interior wiring is slightly different. Dials are the same (different colour needles obv and the numbers are bigger).
Key is different
think the only difference in the engine bay is the ph3 has a oil cooler. The ph2 has the sandwich plate but its not plumbed in.

The abs pipes are routed differently, and is setup differently.

Yeah its not actually abs on the ph3. Its EBD

There's more than you think.
Clocks are different - Ph2 is orange needles big numbers, Ph3 is white needles small numbers.
Throttle pedal has a proper cover on it for Ph3
Dash surround is black on Ph2, silver on Ph3.
Dial surround also is black on ph2 and silver on Ph3.
Ph3 has Side Airbags, Ph2 is optional IIRC.
Ph3 has 4-wheel with EBFD Ph2 has only 2-Wheel with load compensator.
Ph3 seats are different, less bolster, sit higher in car.
Ph3s always have silver lion on wheel, Ph2 it was only on "Premium" GTi6s, "Comfort" had black lion.
Ph3s are always half leather + Alcantara, Ph2 could be "Mustang" if on a "Comfort" or the half leather and Alcantara on the "Premium"...
Ph3 has plastic rear wiper vs the janky metal one on Ph2.
Ph3 washer under spoiler, Ph2 on wiper arm.
Ph3 has embossed badge on boot lock, Ph2 is gel over sticker.
Ph3 has clear fog lights, Ph2 has frosties.
Ph3s have clear side repeaters, Ph2 are orange.
Bonnet bulge on Ph3, flat on Ph2.
I'll add more as I think of them.

I've seen them with the oil/water exchanger capped off on one side, fook knows why...

Yup this. they all have the sandwich plate but the ph2s are capped off.

That's a 2.5 though Isn't it? Or is this just going to end up one of these things where it depends if pug could be bothered to fit the pipes or not! I know I've seen several that are capped and obviously been like it from new. Also, the rad doesn't have the outlet on it.
