so i know afew of you guys have these on here and i was just wondering 2 things mainly.

1) do you get the right lead to plug into the hdi with it on purchase or is that extra?

2) ive seen people on about buying the files? is this suggesting it comes with no files and you have to buy for different cars and if so where you buy from?

It comes with an obd connector which already fits most cars

Yes each map file is different for each car. You can either upload your original and modify it, or get someone else to do it for you

thanks sam. so on your computer/laptop you can adjust them yourself? or as said get on downloaded from someone and use that?

Takes a lot of advice/self learning to write map files.

There's plenty of files about already done.

What car is it your wanting to remap?

well im not looking to do any right now to be fair but was looking at getting one to know ive got one if you get me? and could always get a spare ECU and practice mapping on that right?

Just get someone to send you a standard map, and a remapped version. Get a piece of software that allows you to make changes then look at what the differences are.

There loads of stuff on the Internet about mapping and what to do, unfortunately my primitive mechanical brain no understanding

Just checked & im wrong, i've got a Galletto.

Think i've got an SP Tuning map for an 062 ECU.

whats the difference with a galletto and kwp2000?

Galletto is spelt G A L L E T T O & kwp2000 is spelt K W P 2 0 0 0

lol, I don't know. They both do the same job! I'll take £17 inc p&p and paypal fees for my galletto if not il keep it & help people out for forum donations etc

do they both work the same? as in plug into laptop and all id have to do is follow instructions and upload a pre mapped file?

KWP2000 and KWP2000+ are the same tool but use different versions of the same software Kwp2000 software wont work on the Kwp2000+ lead

kwp2000 and + you will need windows XP operating system

Galletto uses ist own software and works on the newer operating systems

i use a kwp2000+ on XP myself and dont know anything about the gelletto

as for maps for the car read the map yourself and pay steve or whippy or 205gt to alter the map for you

there is a lot involved in mapping i wouldnt attempt to alter the files

and dont use any of the map files supplied with the tool as they are mostly junk
