Don't know why you bother with snow tyres, when we had a month of constant snow up here winter 2010 I never had a problem on ungritted roads in a big, heavy Audi 80 on Chinese ditch finders
It's all about skill and judgement...

^^^^^righto
I some sense you are right...same year I had a brand new Fiesta ZS tdci on 45s....never got stuck in all that snow...
but its when you need to brake, turn etc, you really feel the difference on properly good snow/winter tyres...shame we cant use studs here though

Yeah that's true, I've tried snow tyres and they are AMAZING but for the average 4-5 snowy days we have a year I just couldn't justify the expense to be honest...

they do improve things just in the cold/damp/frosty conditions too...its a bit of an investment but it means for 4months a year my summer tyres arent getting worn!
