£6...
its just the first would be a sighter.... second a warm one then by the third you could have more of a go... takes few laps at a circuit to start pushing properly. my real concern is tyre temps....first few corners on a track is so slippy, then the tyres begin to warm....first few corners at prescott and your done!!! Wishes for more power...

all the run videos I have seen they dont get this chance though... so loadsa bikes drop the front end on the first right hairpin and cars do mega understeer Wishes for more power...

The beading rubber around the start area this year was epic later in the day and I said to Spike if you're planning to go up the hill next year to make sure you're running some softer compound tyres for that bit of extra grip.

Would be nice but a lot of people there were doing just fine running their road tyres. I suppose we were lucky that it was quite a warm day and not wet!

Niall - there are softer compound road tyres out there as I'm sure you and everyone else is aware but it was just my advice to spike who happens to have a few sets of wheels and tyres available at the moment.
I was in no way intimating that people should be running race spec tyres or slicks - though some people from the clubs will be.

What i didnt want was for people that have never been to this sort of show to think that soft compound tyres are a must. Yes they will help loads and if youve got some, crack on and get them on there but if you cant afford some, you can still have loads of fun on road tyres. Im running on t1rs so if i can make it up there, anyone can!

Gota say....even with slicks on a warm day...without warming them I rekon they still be cold at the finish line....
championship hill climbers must use ubber soft AND warm them first surely Wishes for more power...

All they do to warm them is wheelspin before the line.
