As I cant seem to find any clear information about putting phase 2/3 rear lights onto a phase 1 i thought i would start this for my own use and for people doing future conversions.
first of all, i know that the light itself is a straight fit, but from there im not so sure.
what wiring differences are there between the different phase rear light clusters?
what do i need to do to wire in the lights?
Im fairly confident when it comes to electrical stuff, just want clear information before i attempt the conversion to save me having to figure out what to then, lazy i know but meh
so yeah..... GO

you want the plugs from the p2/3 lights.
theres no crazy canbus so I would use a multimeter and a pad and start taking readings of what colour does what and go from there???

They're not strictly "straight" fit, the plug for number plate lights needs adjusting, either cut a bit of the metal so it slots through, or piggy back the wires straight off the sidelight wire. When I did mine mine, I just used a power probe and did it wire by wire. You'll also have to link the loom for the nearside cluster, as on a ph1 there is a plug from the offside that goes to the near side, its just a case of cutting the plug off and joining the right wires
