Hold out for a 95 mate. They are so much nicer than the 93 and even the 2.3 LPT is fairly quick!
You get alot for your money. Oh and if you can get one, get one with the Harmon Kardon audio upgrade. Its Fapping epic!

Merc CLK..? Seem to remember Honda Preludes come with a few toys too. Doing my best to think like an old man who thinks he wants something "sporting", is it working?
Also, don't understand why you think a new fuel pump will be expensive, it's only a petty one, would think £100 tops no..?

A big question is whether you will still want to have the wind in your hair?
Cos a Saab is gonna be your best bet on your budget I think, similar cars I can think of around that price are all a bit more camp, like pug 206CCs, 306 Cabriolet (bit old now).
What about an Astra Bertone Cabriolet? They represent good value for money and they're a nice car, did they do one with the 2.0 Turbo? That would be sweet, otherwise a 2.2 would suffice. Dunno about the level of equipment though.
A curve ball for me would be something my friendly mechanic recently acquired as an MOT failure, a mint E36 328i Cab with BBS split-rims and gorgeous blue paintwork and a recent new roof. Fecking lovely, really was. I almost bought it and still regret not doing so, he only wanted 1800 for it and I foolishly bought a Celica instead.
They make a great car if you don't mind something a bit older, plus they look like they're worth much more than they actually are!!

New car will not be a cabriolet! Its nice but I dont really have the roof down enough to justify it.
Just after something large, cruisey and comfortable.
Still got a hankering for a 406 coupe, but there arent any round here.
Saab is going to a specialist for diagnosis tomorrow, so ill know whether I need a new car or not then.
