Right people!
Tinkering the car today with my dads mate....
Eurika... Almost!
The car tried to start with easy start being sprayed into intake.
We think immobliser has kicked in and stopped fuel.
I know I said we checked injectors for fuel but must of been what's left in pipes.
So what do you think? Immobliser?
If so how do I bypass immobliser?

Sorry to disappoint but of course it will "try to start" with easy start, that's what it's for. It's more easily combustible so it will run even without diesel until none is left in the intake. With diesel present it will just get the head hot enough to keep it combusting the diesel. It sounds like there isn't enough pressure for the injectors if you say they are getting fuel (sure I read that above).

They was getting fuel when I checked but doesn't the immobiliser stop te injectors from releasing the fuel?

Yeah it probably does that as well as cutting the fuel pump.

Check the signals going to the FPR and injectors, that'll tell you if the ECU is locking them out.

Fpr? And what you mean by signal? Power readings or with pp2000?

Get a multimeter on there, the injectors should be getting 80v, cant remember the values for fpr, cully might be able to tell you. Fpr is the black unit plugged into the gearbox side of the hp pump.

Ok dude cheers will get my dad to check when he's down I have work soon. Just primed the fuel With key turned and the fuel pipe going into the filter housing... That's pissing fuel while its priming. So it's not lift pump.

Was that a typo? 80Volts? Surely it should be more like 8?

Kent, the ECU doctor did mine when i was having immobiliser issues, was a good result, quick service and not too expensive.

I tried googling (well, bing'ing) and came up with nothing. How the hell do you get 80 volts from a 12 volt supply?

Had a look at ecu doctor they have standard rate if £120. Car tech will do it if I send it out to them for £50.

Fair enough bud, up to you. Have you found any reviews? Bound to be some on various forums about the place. Their site looks a lot more professional than the ECU doctors tbf, although that's not hard lol.

Ah fair enough, I got the wrong idea, that 80v is when the 'spike' occurs, its not constant, that won't even be measurable with a multimeter though, happens far too quick. You'd need something like picoscope to measure that, and the engine has to be running, I remember doing injector tests at college now.


But, I thought you were just testing voltage presence without the engine running (seeing as Kent can't get it to start), which would only be battery voltage iirc.

takes 80v to lift the injector and 50v to hold open once lifted
and yes you can make 80v without the car running just by turning it over the ecu makes 80volts from 11-14v
the ecu shuts down if the voltage is too low

Electrical installation training, I can (theoretically) wire houses for plug sockets and lights.........electronics is completely different as you know! Tongue Plus as I've said before, grades mean fuckall in real life situations tbh.

I'm still sure you wont be able to measure that 80v on a multimeter though??

Well, we couldn't with the ones at college (albeit cheap crap that never did really work properly), but I'm gonna assume you've got a really expensive one that saves readings and probably shows wave graphs and shit. Blush Tongue

Tom you could measure it with certain multimeters. Some can record the highest voltage until 'reset'

I dont know much about pug diesels but if they work anything like the petrol immobilisers, I highly doubt its just locked its self. It just doesnt happen. I assume youve checked the connection to the pickup ring for the key and even checked the key to make sure someones not epically trolling you and taken the chip?

No ones taken the chip as it never leave my pocket. As for wiring I got no chance! I see wires as colours and that's it. So that's why I sent it to be unlocked.
