(This post was last modified: 16-09-2012, 11:06 AM by vlj.)
After seeing the Midnight's and Andy did this, it absolutely has to be done as a club. I've always wanted to go and with enough warning surely people can save up/get time off etc.
I know it will be impossible to arrange but it will be an absolute laugh.
Really just gauging interest for around the middle of April time before it gets into Summer and prices start hiking up.
Lap prices are reasonable starting at 26euro for one lap (the track is f*cking massive for those unaware).
Proposing that we leave Monday the 15th April and stay for 2 nights, get an earlyish morning ferry (the earlier the better).
The idea would be that everyone would meet up in Ashford, then all drive the final leg to Dover together. It would be up to the members going to organise meeting to drive towards Ashford.
We'd then do the Dover->Calais crossing, then from there it's roughly 340 miles across France Belgium and into Germany.
Once there we either have the option of camping or hotels.
The price of camping at the Ring is:
3 nights 32 €
2 nights 22 €
1 night 12 €
There are also hotels around the ring ranging from 60eur p/night-ridiculous euro p/night.
Costwise, GTi owners are going to be looking at just over 2 full tanks (possibly more considering how much you use on the track).
You are going to be looking at around:
£170 fuel (in a GTi)
Ferry with 2 passengers and a 306 £70 on flexi save with P&O
Camping £15/Hotel £100
Food: £30-... depends how much you want to eat really!
You'll also want to arrange for your breakdown cover to be effective in Europe, as there is a high chance of breaking down - and I have broken down without cover in France before and it's really not fun. Take spares, it's a long old drive.
Will be looking to get everything booked by the end of January, preferably sooner.

I'll save you guys 4 pages of nonsense: organise it yourselves and you might get somewhere, and bear in mind Vaughan has no intention of turning up, mainly due to work commitments. He may not know this yet, but nonetheless this is how it will happen.
