Hello,
Well, I'm getting a little desperate for a car now so I can shift the Golf.
This is right near me judging by the river and cranes in his pics lol, but I've never seen it.
Its not ideal, I don't like the colour which can't be helped, it has a ph2 front bumper and some dodgy mods.
BUT it is a HDi and it is local!! I could easily rip off the tints and get rid of those horrible 206 wheels!!
Now what worries me a bit is that ph2 front bumper - wonder if its been crashed at some point.
I tried E-mailing the guy but he replied with 'text me, I'm too busy for an email'....ironic as that was by email.
Now I dont want to waste my and his time texting if anyone knows it has a bad past for a start? Also, what do you think? I know the start price is too high...hence the lack of bids lol. But what do we reckon its worth?

Cheers
Tom

Could do one of those £2.99 car checks.
Failing that, just text the guy. Whats the worst that can happen.
Cant see why you'd put a Ph2 bumper on a Ph3 though, unless you'd damaged your bumper. But they are soooo easy to crack.

You dont want to speak to him? Just ask him to text and not phone. Just say you're in work or something or cant speak on the phone.

I did think that, either he's got a really shit phone camera and trying to make the pics better.............or the bumper isnt a good match, as I dont even think the did a ph2 moonstone?
And you're welcome to them........for the right price ofcourse. Far too big for a 306!

Might just be a damaged bumper with no other problems. Or could be a wreck, If hes repaired it himself, it probably wouldnt show up on a car check anyway.

Yet in the add he says -
"I haven't touched the engine so it is 90bhp but have made some cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior"
So are we gonna assume its been ragged around with a shitty tuning box and crashed.....?

Yeah, he isn't related (lots of mayhews round here...damn inbreeding lol).....I've already facebook stalked him, no relation to Jamma as far as I can see!
Also - The tuning box cost over £100 inc postage, a remap would've been cheaper!

Dude just ring the bloke up.
One thing that annoys sellers most is potential buyers who don't have the bottle to just phone you up and ask about it, but would rather send 15 emails back and forth before deciding "nope, not for me", when the same could have been resolved in a 2 minute phone conversation.
Here Tom I saw an advert at the weekend and thought of you -

But seriously.......one email is all I sent, surely thats better than a phone call while you're in the middle of something/working/on the bog etc!! I'd certainly prefer E-mails from potential buyers than phone calls.

I no this car, think my mate was looking to buy it a while ago, stinks of smoke, back seats are covered in what can only be called love juice. Engine knocks (not as much as eds) and slam panel doesn't correctly fit therefor throwing out the fitment of bumper

They're awful lol, but after Matts comment I think I'll leave it anyway! Plus, I already have a set of 'clones, looking for something more interesting for my next pug though.

Interesting to know you can get cruise on a 306 though, I use it all the time on the golf. Shouldn't be difficult to retrofit to a HDi anyway tbh.

Suppose the 306 wasn't really made for cruising anyway, they wanted people to buy the more expensive 406 for that.
Everything is basically there for it (except the switch) on a newer diesel though, so does seem a bit pointless not to offer it as standard on the top spec meridian HDis IMO.
Will be one of the biggest things I'll miss from the Golf I think. Also the 6th gear, arm rest and mpg/trip computer on the dash. Won't miss much else I don't think. Oh except the hydraulic clutch lol!!
