The 6 was a higher engine?? How much did you pay for the gti6 insurance and was that with 1 yrs no claim bonus? I looked yesterday and for my hdi they wanted £2150 was the cheapest with 1 yrs no claim..

Surely a combo policy be cheaper for you mate as they take into consideration that you cant be driving both at the same time?! Wishes for more power...

When I got my first car I'd already had a foreign license for a year which gave me no no claims bonus but did make it cheaper than just passing my test. Got the 106 when I was 20, then at 21 got a gti-6 and paid 1200 to insure it for a year with 1 year's ncb, then the next year paid 800 to insure a gti6 with 2 years ncb and being 22, and soon I'll be 23 with 3 years so hoping for a further reduction!
It's all about getting those first 1 or 2 years under your belt. (03-08-2014, 05:42 AM)Josh1994 Wrote: The 6 was a higher engine?? Problem with being so young/new to driving is the companies that insure most of us for modded cars won't look at you til you're a certain age/have at least 1 years NCB.

I pay £335 a year with Brentacre on the 205 190bhp limit, engine swap and all mods declared and have 6 points aswell :-)
03-08-2014, 01:33 PM
£300 on the E34 525 TDS, no ncb, as that was all on the 205 gti which was also £300, will have 9 years on one policy and 1 year on the second by the end of the year.
I would of had one yrs if only they would allow it..
