Using Peugeot Planet
#31
Have to have the security code to program anything security related but still cant do the central locking if the key was originally from another car. The chips are basically one use. Once there programmed, they generally cant be reprogrammed (although a few people have been able to. i think its a bit hit and miss tbh)

Hi Niall

Great guide mate but I got a couple of questions.
I got the security code and Peugeot Planet but i'm confused on what i'm gonna need to make a secondary remote fob.
When you say you can 5 transponder chips does this mean you can program in 5 prewitten chips or do they have to be 5 new chips?
If I gotta get new chips do they have to be Philips PCF7931 or will any ID46 chip work?
For the central locking part will any Peugeot 2 button remote work, ie one from a 206 as long as its the right type [I need the rf type], or does it have to be from another 306?
How will I know if the central locking fob can't be programmed to my car, and does anyone know what the chip is that holds the coding and if it can be replaced?

Looks like transponder chips are easy enough to get hold of, mainly looking for help with getting a secondary remote central locking fob for my Phase 3 306.

Cheers for any advice

With the transponder chip (tiny little black thing jammed in the key casing used to start the car), you can use a second hand one from a second hand key on eBay (usually about £5).

With the CL chip, you will know if it doesn't work because when you press the buttons on the key in the sequence, it will just fail. Need a new chip but as I said, that means going to Peugeot and getting raped for one.
The pre multiplex 206 keys work and so do the very late 106 ones. The early 307 ones could as they share a very similar system but I'm yet to try this!

Niall how much would you charge to get the black immobiliser chip reprogrammed? I appreciate you can't do the C/L reprogram, but I want to replace the key housing and can't remove that little black chip from my working key (scared of breaking it!?) to put it in the decent fob case.
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

ill do it for a drink if you come to the christmas meet and do it there (about half way between us!)
It should come out though. Its only held in with pressure from the casing. Just get a watchmakers screwdriver and prise it out

Ed, do the usual full system scan or whatever it's called, then go into the ECU and click on parameter measurements.

the RPO number or the build number can be found on a sticker on the car

Planet gives instructions on where to find it
if the sticker is missing take the registration date and google PSA build date calculator you should be able to find a tool that will give you a rough build date number

For reading sensors, use lexia, you can choose which ones u want to display on screen, and also press record and record a drive, and then it dumps it in a file as a graph / text log...which is nice...

Just choose a cit car with same motor and itl connect to engine ecu no bother.

Yeah sure man, I bought this one the other day;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221189007865?s...1497.l2649

It came with: Lexia-3: V47, PP2000: V24 & DiagBox V6.01

I've only bunged PP2000 on it so far; I hear Diagbox offers more of the later models in the peugeot range, but it's apparently slower than pp, and requires more cpu power (which my cruddy old xp laptop borrowed from work just didnt have!) so I just stuck with pp...

If anyone can shed any light on the other bits though, do let me know. When/if I ever get a half-decent laptop to run pp on, I'll be putting all 3 on to have a play, but until then...

build number dosnt matter anyway, just makes it faster as it knows exactly what ecu's to search for, will work either way.

I know that number. But that number is not the serie/serial number. The 206 gt was limited for 4000 units.
