Yeah I'll be honest, at your price point, a 1.6HDi could be an utter disaster... They have quite a few well documented problems... I'd stick with a non dpf 2.0 8v HDi, much more reliable, not as good on fuel, but you'll save your money elsewhere.

Cheers Ruan, I have decided to walk away from 1.6 pug hdi's.
Looking for 2:0 hdi's in various guises and fords instead
the smokey old bus that sounds like a tractor...

Terrible things. Check all the electrics. Carl chambers has one with 34K on it and the electrics are ruined so it was written off!
