EGR Blanking.

I know there is plenty of forums about it but I have 2 questions

the standard egr blanking plates on ebay? do they just go in the inlet elbow? Huh

if the egr is blanked at the inlet does the plug/vac pipe need to be pulled? and if the pipe is pulled does it need plugged? Huh

W Reg 2000 HDI for reference .
