Guide: Cheap in car Go Pro mount!
#1
Yeah I know it's a guide and it should be in the guides section but this is an amazing idea (stolen from another forum) so with FCS coming up and knowing that nobody regularly reads the guides section I thought I'd post it here for everyone to see (I'm sure it can be moved in a couple of days)

Parts list
Metal Bar at least 75cm long - Free but about a fiver if you buy from B&Q
3 U bolts - £1.14 each
6 washers to fit your u bolts £0.01 each
6 wing nuts to fit your wing nuts £0.05 each
Sticky go pro mount £1.09
Metal angle bracket £1.65

Tools
Drill
Drill bits up to the size of your u bolts and pop rivits
Pop riviter
Metal file

Start by checking your bar for length. From the videos I've seen on the internet they are a whole lot more stable when tied to both head rests than just one. Measure up the distance of the head rest supports so you know where to drill. I have 130mm between the ones on the seat and 560mm between the inner most supports over the gap between the seats.

Check that your U bolts have enough thread to bolt through the bar properly.

Measure the gape of the U bolts then divide this by 2 and add i either side of your head rest support measurements.

Add all these measurements to your bar.

Drill your holes, starting very small makes it easier on a round bar. Once these are done file the outside of the bar smooth.

Check that you have drilled correctly and the u bolts fit

Then take the bar for a test fit in the car

Add you angle bracket in the center and drill and pop rivet it on. It doesn't need to be flat as your go pro mount will let you adjust for this.

And admire the view.

Add a sticky go pro mount and your away. I think a bit higher and a bit further forward gives a better picture.
