New genuine icv is about £80. The cheap copies work ok for a while but don't last anywhere near as well as the genuine ones (normally about a year before you start having issues again). Depends how long you plan on keeping the car.
Fitting is a 10 minute job but most garages charge a minimum of half hour labour.
I can guarantee the garage will not reset the ECU when fitting the new icv so tell them to remove the battery before fitting and by the time it's fitted, that should be enough time to reset the ECU. Battery back on and should be as good as good.
