Mine spools so quickly it surges before it gets going... If the head flowed it and you set the start screw in enough, you could shove 20lbs down the inlet at 1700rpm... But the head simply won't let it through so it just surges... Essentially you've got full power from about 2400rpm with the head as standard, but I even have to keep it from producing too much torque down there with the throttle, or I just end up slipping the clutch or stretching the head studs... About 3k it's fully into it's stride, it'll go until 4800 and you do feel it die past there, but it's more the pump than the turbo, the boost never drops until the fuel does.
If you're looking for sort of 170-180, 9mm.. GT2052S for certain... Stupidly quick spool for it's size, I'd say you'd have full torque from about 2600rpm, holding the power 'till 5k....
I've always said GT2052S or GT2056S is perfect for these engines...
