Gti-6 engine not starting

Sounds like you need to start with a new crank sensor. They aren't expensive. Not sure why it would randomly fail while the car was sat, but the plastic body was possibly damaged from 000's of heat cycles & the internal windings have started to corrode.

I'm also not sure whether lack of valid crank signal would supress the spark but seems entirely possible.
