Sorry guys I know that the forum is already cluttered with golfs but this should prove do be something a bit different...

Ive got a few catamarans which I sail across the country so Im used to all this being on the water malarky! RYA dinghy instructor so Ive got my PB2!

The boat itself is what is a Fletcher ArrowSport 155 limited edition and has the grey striped livery.



First a bit of history. The boat was found pretty much abandoned locally after its owner had been moved to Australia. And as you can see from the pictures it was in a pretty bad state.




The boat was then redone and a picture of the rebuild...



A 70Hp Evinrude was then purchased however not long after there was an accident where the previous owner came out sailing with us one night. Planning to take friends out after sailing he left it to them to launch the boat. However they launched it with the bung in the top drain section instead of the bottom of the hull. Doh! Fortunately another speedboat tied onto the side of it to stop it from properly sinking. Electrics were damaged and the engine was partially submerged. Anyway after insurance claims and buying another boat a second boat was not needed and thus I am now the new owner.



Anyway after buying a shit sailing dinghy in the past I decided I should strip everything out and check everything! and yes those are 106 seats D: When I picked up the boat I asked 'So the struts and and floor definitely arent rotten?' 'No They arent'. So carpet out.... floor up and oh what?




Yep the previous owner had just put non marine ply down over the original floor which isnt in great condition and was absolutely soaked. Classic! They had also used rubber flooring instead of carpet which meant that the water was locked in and had been sitting there for months on end and would never dry out... Note that the struts are softwood and of the many screws I removed only 2 were stainless steel! D:

So here is the boat completely stripped out!




In the last few days the floor has dried out but bits are still damp and rotten. So here comes the question. Should I be cutting it all out (with a drill cutting disc?) and replacing the entire thing? Or just patching up the rotten areas?

And all of this is still the hull not to mention the half submerged engine! Dont know much about marine engines but new sparks and the air box will be being refitted tomorrow and my flush muffs arrived today. Ill start it up tomorrow and see how it runs just on idle. Hopefully internal corrosion will be minimal and the engine isnt ruined!

So far I have bought a new battery, 5Kg of Polyester Resin and hardner, fibreglass tape, gel coat filler. Still to buy is marine ply, marine battery box, battery quick release terminals, lots of carpet. Seats from the peugeot 306 im breaking will be going in until I can find something more suitable!

So thats it! In my eyes probably a very foolish buy however im enjoying the project so far and improving skills etc and I look forward to the rest of it (excluding the engine D!
