Love the older Volvos,years ago I had a 262 Auto with the PSA 2.6 litre V6 and then a 1.8 244 manual - I used them as a daily but also as tow car for my glider trailers.
The 262 was the only auto I ever owned but it was such a torquey engine if you were driving gently it was a seamless shift.
At 22mpg (262) and 28mpg (244) they eventually became too expensive on fuel,I did think about converting the 244 to turbo diesel and have always regeretted not doing it LOL
One of the things I loved about them was that you could have warm air to your feet and cool air on your face at the same time
