Decent Low Budget Smart Phone?

Problem with second hand is stuff is always ruined by previous owners. And when it breaks through age or previous heavy use there's no warranty on it and you're left with a broken item and having to pay to repair it. I always prefer to save up and buy new where possible now, only thing I can't do that with is cars and look how well that goes!
