To put it bluntly yes. 
He's a forign man from holland 
but said there was no issue with fitment for right hookers.
Im not the only one whos fallen into this trap as there was several others. Mainly for gti's but they will all still have the master cylinder issue
Guess theres a lesson to be learned here...
