Comes on after 30!? Pointless, can do far more than 30 in snow... 
Most I've had don't come back on until a restart, Focus included.
The chances of crashing should be reduced with ESP when driving to the conditions, unless you really drive like that much of a lady garden?
I've had loads of near misses in 306s (particulary the non-ABS ph2 on budget tyres deathtrap, or the ones with knackered beams! 
)...can't think I've had any in the Focus, it just kind of steers and stops as you'd expect (boring, I know). EBA is awesome as well, literally don't know how it can stop so soon in emergency situations.
