Perhaps 407s are crashed a lot by those who drive them eg: large families and minicab drivers.

That's not really that different to an MX5 power and weight-wise. Not lightning fast but not a slouch and great fun.
I've always had a soft spot for these, but then I also want a capri, a 309 and about 20 other retro classics.
