Seriously, if the big ends have failed, putting in new shells without doing something that will stop it happening again, I can only see it happening again and again! You could spend a fortune on bits for it and be left in the same situation.
I've got a spare GTi6 motor on 105k or so, bits like manifold, alternator/pas pump missing off it, but it is an entire motor, not a snapper, one out of my old car, needs a belt replacement and probably a bit of a clean, but it's a super tidy motor underneath if you are interested.
