This is my industry. I'm surprised you can't read Mov. Although it's from Apple, it's pretty universal. Maybe you just need to download a decent driver set. Give Perian a go.
In my line of business we all use Macs. My go to app is MPEG Streamclip. Swear by it. I'm guessing it works on PCs too.
