The only issue that you are likely to face is seized bolts holding the cap down, typically the flat heads because they provide less grip.
Handy tip: You can put a 1p/2p piece into the top of the bolt and use a pair of pliers to undo it. Makes it a lot easier if it is seized. I should be a Haynes manual
Nothing is attached to the cap itself, not internally at least
