I've done it & it worked relatively well, however I would pay the extra on something like your fiat as that car will still be worth a fair amount & trying to sell it with DIY tints won't be easy.
If you can get the film cheap enough then give it a bash, you just need to use lots of soapy water, a heat gun/hairdryer, and a propper squeegee (dont use a credit card as they scratch the film)
Also as a side note, one of the most important things is to prep the glass properly, wash it down, go over it with a razor blade and make sure it's perfectly clean, lay the tint on the outside of the glass to cut the shape (flip it over so you're not cutting the mirrored shape)
