Replacement beams from scrap yards are cheap enough, £40 should be enough.
The problem with this is that any beam from a second hand 306 these days is just as likely to have issues as yours is.
Best bet is to either buy one from a breaker and re-build it yourself or pay somebody else to do it.
There are also a lot of beams popping up in the for sale section on here if you keep your eyes open and everybody selling on here are honest and the beam may be good when sold but who knows how long it will last.
Try and find a decent one second hand and replace all the bearings and seals and it should see out your ownership of the car.
