I've only done a 3rd of the miles you have (did 15k a year for the first 3 years, but only 6 a year in the last 2! And so far I've not been caught...that just makes me worry more though, the law of averages means that the longer you go without something happening, the more likelihood there is of that happening! It might just be me that thinks like that though.
Just because you've got a queue behind you?! So what!! Just because "everyone" is breaking the law, doesn't mean you should too... For goodness sakes it's 10mph... That's an extra 250 metres in a minute and an extra 4 metres per second, it doesn't hold you up that much, but is the difference between life and death, being able to stop and not being able to stop... For the sake of it, what's the point in doing that extra 10mph...
Call me boring - anyone who's been in a car with me tends to know I don't hang about, but as said, there's a time and a place - speeding through villages isn't the place to go "bollocks to it"...
Why does more miles equal more chance of being caught? If you don't want to get caught, just do the speed limit, it's REALLY not that difficult.
Having driven now on German Autobahns - I TOTALLY see why our country hasn't increased the speed limit on motorways, it's for the simple fact that people in this country are retards... 99.999% of people on "derestricted" autobahns are doing 70-80mph... I can count on one hand the amount of people doing over 100mph!! If we did that in this country, you'd have every man and his dog in a shagged mk5 escort going like the clappers and killing themselves, we're just not the same as them, it's a TOTALLY different culture out there that this country doesn't understand.
The Autobahns are also 2 lanes and trust me, you do not get anyone sat in the outside lane for any longer than they have to - even the old grannies can just do it... Over here you'd have Kev in his 1.6 clio doing 115mph with Doris in the outside lane doing 55mph... Driving in this country is a right, not a privilege - and that's wrong!
