Carb cleaner would be ideal. Like Toseland said, get it in there and put the plugs back in. Just do not start it like this! Leave it over night, whip the plugs out and turn it over a few times to get everything out of the bores then get the plugs back in.
That said, i think thats only going to be a temporary fix. The damage will already have been done and if its valve guide seals, doing above won't make a blind bit of difference.
