The 60%/40% mix is a safe bet. You wont (should not) have any problems.
Then as you get a better understanding of veg running you can vary the mix.
Or you can just not bother and go 100% all year round.

Depends very much on the car, it's condition, the condition of the tank, strainer, filters and hoses fittings.
One thing about veg is that at some point you will have some sort of a problem.
Some wise words I think. But I'm planning on grabbing a dturbo for £500 notes so if it goes wrong it's not the end of the world! As a side note will the flat non turbo diesel run on veg oil as well?
