I have replaced one of mine, however I think that if you can't answer the question of how/if you can change it yourself it might be new fob time.
Then again give it a go if you want... what is the worst that can happen? a broken fob.
also it might be an idea to scrub the pcb with isopropyl alcohol and an old toothbrush to clean any low impedance muck off.
another thing I found helped was I whetted the solder dots on the pcb that contact the battery with some fresh solder.
