I know its high but it seems right, my first year back owning a car, my current 306, I found all my no claims had expired and taking into account one accident I had in 2011 although not on my policy had to be declared and my premium was over £3k it was £400 deposit and £295 a month for 9months and that was only TPFT while I was 24/25, no points, and no convictions. Totally stupid and extortionate but I had to stomach it to get back on the road and this year being 25/26 and 1 year ncb it dropped to £900 fully comp then when I moved to a house with a drive it dropped to £700ish.
Daylight bloody robbery it is! All a result of the blame claim society though. I think a law should be passed forcing insurers to go back to common sense and not just pay out for the sake of it cause its cheaper than challenging it. Ie. if during a accident one of the cars is breaking the laws of the road in anyway their claim is null void, even if say someone hits a stationary car but it's parked on double yellows.... gutted you shouldn't have been parked there, whiplash should have a limit imposed for payout unless life altering results can be proved etc just my opinion but it's beyond a joke and needs reigning in!
