I suppose people do assume the law and MOT are the same.
To be honest I only use HIDS as the yellow halogen bulbs look terrible on my car, combining with the fact I have projector headlights so the 6000k HIDS look white and modern, rather than blinding people like people who fit them to non projector & frosted style lenses.
I could get self levellers by retro fitting AFL running gear but tbh they passed the MOT like it and don't blind so I couldn't care less, old bill up & down the country have seen them too
