Reclining Bucket

I've read a few threads on how to go about fitting a bucket seat, but I'm still utterly confused.

If you went down the route of no fabrication, what exactly is required?

Seat subframe
Seat runner kit
Side mounts

Having had a look earlier, I noticed, on my car now that the seat is attached at the side, whereas my old one did not. Is that just a difference between a 3dr and a 5dr?

Am I also right in saying that a runner kit isn't necessary, it just means you sit lower?
