The immobilier chip has a set code which the car learns so that chip can be used over and over again because the code never changes but the CL chip works the other way round and I'm not quite sure on the ability of the pick up ring to program the new code from the new car to the new CL chip.
Ive never seen anything concrete saying that you can't reprogram the CL chip but that seems to be the general idea. Ive never had any luck doing it
