As an update to what eventually happened:
I ended up fixing the car and so was using it as normal, when the other day I got a letter from the co op saying that I told them that I had sold/scrapped my car and would be cancelling my policy
firstly I never said that I HAD done that, I just said that I would be considering it if I didn't repair it.
also, this was 2 weeks after I'd had it fixed, these idiots put a f*cking monitoring device in my car and yet can't manage to work out that I'm driving it therefore it isn't on a stack in a scrapyard! :S
Done a quote for next year and it came back at £1080 for an XUD and £1200 for a HDi, not too bad considering my age and fault claim. Ofc prices will change between now and next July but its a rough idea
To anyone who is considering a black box policy I personally wouldn't ever bother, you can't hardly have any fun in your car and end up paying for others mistakes
