Hello to all from sunny New Zealand. My daughter has a 1997 1.8i 306 2 door manual. Today she had 2 new front tyres fitted and a wheel alignment done. On her way home from the tyre shop she noticed a whining in third gear only. I drove it and yep third gear is making a terrible noise, all other gears sweet as. When in third gear and I depress the clutch pedal the noise disappears straight away. The car has done 185000 kms. So, can any of you people give me a clue as to what our problem maybe, cheers to all.
