Curt, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they will not be able to help you further unless you send it back to them. You're not being charged for resending it in, even though it is inconveniencing you again. In the eyes of the law/consumer advice etc, they're following their process for assessing and replacing damaged items, so are doing everything within reason based on the situation to resolve it. If you refused to allow them to send the phone away, it will weaken your case.
