Call the broker I have used for over 10 consecutive years, they've always been cheap or very competitive for me and my scenario of a factory STANDARD car 
Call Ian at Woodbury insurance brokers and say Chris Reynolds recommended you got a quote from them on 01934 742550. They are a broker for around 20/30 underwriters so they MAY be able to find you a good price.
More important to me when buying insurance is the level of cover, service you get not only price. Ian deals with any claims on my behalf and if he says he will post you something that day he does, so I don't mind paying that little bit extra
My disclaimer...they have always been cheap or very competitive for me and my scenario but he may not with your scenario
And I make nothing from recommendations just helping mates not to get ripped off when buying insurance. I may give Ian a bell tomorrow and see if he'd be up getting a modified underwriter onboard and possible a club discount
