DRL's are nothing new. Volvos have pretty much always had them. Bit pointless over here as we actually have daylight as opposed to some Scandanavian countries that spend a lot of their time in darkness.
Yeah there are benefits to them (hence why some manufacturers are also starting to use LED Headlights now!) but i think they are now more of a style thing since audi started with them big LED swirls in their headlights a few years back. Just getting tacky now. Ive got normal bulb DRLs on my Kia and i think they look much better than the higher spec models with the LED ones.
Also, whos realised yet you can set the side lights in a 306 to be DRLs? Cant remember how now but i do remember reading it on AD.
