that looks pretty f*cked tbh, how deep are the grooves? look to be a bout half an mm? a honing tool would improve it, but i doubt it'd get that out totally. might be lucky that new rings would bed in, but youd have to clean that piston up too...

It depends how much work you are willing to put in. I'd personally hone it, new rings then slap it back together. Then take it from there
