I can't believe people genuinely still think Type R's could be beaten in a GTI6. It's like the GTi forum of 5 years ago all over again

GTi6's = not that fast any more.

CTR's from the EK onwards would be damned close but ultimately more powerful and, what may come as a surprise, is that the few thousand revs up to VTECyOMG aren't actually that flat, at least about as flat as a GTI6 feels before 4krpm.

ITR's are a whole other ball game. Would pretty much edge a GTi6 any day of the week.

So much comes down to the driver though, and even using the same driver you have to take into account familiarity with the car. I could drive my GTi6 quicker than I could drive my pal's EP Type R, purely because I knew the limits of my own car...
