Yeah this, You can put one out with water but it instantly needs a vast amount to sufficiently suffocate and cool the fire. Putting the lid on the chip pan is the better option.
Completely 100% wrong. The best thing to do (assuming you have one of course) is to wrap your self in a fire blanket and GTFO!
No the absolute best idea is to be like my Dad and not allow a chip pan in the house due to the fire risk.
Funny thing is he managed to catch the microwave alight instead.
